Aldeia da Praia sits on Avenida do Atlantico in Colares, steps from Praia das Macas, one of the more sheltered beach breaks on the Sintra coast and a reasonable spot to learn. Rooms run from four- to eight-bed dorms to doubles and en-suite family tents, and the kitchen turns out vegan breakfast options alongside the standard menu.
Surf lessons run two hours with board, wetsuit and insurance included, and yoga classes (Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, meditation) run for 75 minutes alongside the surf programme. The camp also arranges massages, trekking, biking and climbing, and day trips out to Cabo da Roca and Pena Palace for guests who want a day off the water.
