The first surf school in the Azores, running since 2004, teaching on whichever coast of São Miguel has the conditions, with free transport from Ponta Delgada.

Azores Surf School opened in June 2004, the first on the islands. It teaches all levels and ages on São Miguel, moving between the south coast (São Roque, Milícias, Populo) and the north (Santa Bárbara, Monte Verde) depending on swell and wind, with free transfer from the school. Lessons in English and Portuguese.

The black volcanic sand beach on the Estrada do Populo just east of Ponta Delgada, also called Praia Grande, and the south coast's main beach break. Works on south swells when the north coast is blown out.
