Surf Cascais
A surf school and camp in Cascais, certified by the Portuguese Surf Federation, the tourism board and the Cascais port authority, teaching at Carcavelos, Guincho and Praia Grande.
Surf Cascais is based in Murches, inland from Guincho in the municipality of Cascais. The town's own beaches rarely break, so lessons go to whichever of Carcavelos, Guincho or Praia Grande is working that day. It is registered with the Federação Portuguesa de Surf (no. 336), Turismo de Portugal and the Cascais port captaincy.
Lessons and levels
Group lessons with a maximum of six students per instructor, private lessons and coaching, for beginners, intermediates and experienced surfers of all ages. All equipment and insurance are included in lessons, and boards are available to rent.
Surf camp
Surf Camp packages combine accommodation, lessons and yoga. The Surf Villa in Murches has six bedrooms (four shared, two private), a kitchen, a bar area, a garden and a large pool; the Surf House, five minutes' walk away, has three private rooms with use of the Villa's garden, pool and barbecue. Sintra's natural park is close by.
