Ofir

A sandbar beach break between two breakwaters near Esposende, breaking both left and right. Fairly reliable all year, best on a north-west swell with an east-north-east wind.
Ofir is an exposed sandbar beach on the coast by Esposende, with a breakwater at each end. Waves peak both left and right, and the break is fairly reliable through the year. It is sometimes crowded, especially in summer, when the main bathing area fills up and surfers tend to head for the bigger waves a little further south.
It takes a mix of windswell and groundswell and is at its best on a north-west swell with an east-north-east wind. Sources disagree on level: some call it beginner-friendly, so judge it on the day and the size. A separate river-mouth break at Esposende lies about a kilometre away.
