Green Coast Surf School
A long-established surf school on the groyne-shaped beach at Espinho, south of Porto, carrying certificates from Turismo de Portugal and the Portuguese Surf Federation.
Green Coast is based at the Bar Green Coast on Rua 2 in Espinho, opposite the Piscina Solario Atlantico and the Hotel Praia Golfe, about 20 minutes from Porto. The team has more than twenty years running surf lessons and thirty in board sports, and the school holds recognition from Turismo de Portugal, the Federação Portuguesa de Surf, the Instituto Portugues do Desporto e Juventude and the WSL. It also produces surf events in the town, including Surf Pro Espinho.
Lessons and levels
Surf, bodyboard, longboard and stand-up paddle, as lesson packs, private or group lessons, for beginners, intermediates and advanced surfers in controlled groups. Board, wetsuit and insurance are included; you bring a towel and swimwear. There is an adapted surfing programme with specialised support, a SurfKids programme, and surf trips along the coast for individuals or groups.
For groups and kids
A summer camp for ages 6 to 16 mixes surfing, bodyboarding, SUP and skateboarding with yoga, music, painting and environmental education. Birthday parties, school activities and corporate team building can be booked.
