Portimao Surf Clube
A surf club and academy on Praia da Rocha in Portimão, central Algarve, open to the public with lessons bookable without a membership, plus SUP, bodyboard and adaptive surfing.
Portimão Surf Clube is a club with its headquarters by Praia da Rocha in Portimão, founded and led by Francisco Canelas, a national champion. It teaches surf, SUP and bodyboard to the public, with lessons and rentals bookable without joining, and offers membership with access to the club's facilities seven days a week.
Lessons and tours
Surf lessons at Praia da Rocha and a West Coast surf safari; SUP tours along the cliffs, caves and rock arches from Praia da Rocha to João de Arens, at Alvor, and at sunrise; skate classes from age five; and a bodyboard academy. Beginners and experienced riders are both welcome.
Adaptive surfing
The club's para-surfing programme welcomes adaptive surfers, whether they have surfed before or not.
Teams and rental
Skate, bodyboard and surf training and competition teams, with athletes who have competed regionally, nationally and internationally. Surfboards, bodyboards and SUPs rent by the hour, half day, day or three days. Lessons run especially in summer.
